On a generous plot in Bangkok's Yannawa district, a house sat surrounded by unused garden — its potential largely unrealized. Rather than replacing what existed, the project worked with it: preserving the original structure, removing internal walls to open a single continuous dining room, and adding a new pavilion across the courtyard that completes the site rather than competing with it. The courtyard emerges naturally from this logic, transforming leftover green space into the spatial center of the project. At night, light bleeds through the pavilion's envelope, glowing like a lantern and turning the garden into a room without walls. Inside, a long bar crafted from red glazed bricks made from compressed demolition waste organizes the space, complemented by handmade Ang Thong brick flooring and woven papyrus mats.
